CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS STATUE:
Chicago Activist Coalition For Justice Founder Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef sparked the beginning of advocating thst led to several actions that the Christopher Columbus Statue in Grant Park is offensive and a symbol of hate towards the INDIGENOUS NATIVES.
Activist Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef, who represents indigenous groups said that statement alone is key in why the statue should be removed as it represents in a public space that indigenous people are nothing more than savages to be tamed in this country.
"We just want to make our point clear, why they feel the way they feel, and I cannot disagree with the way they feel, because I can relate to the way they feel," he said.

BOYCOTT 4TH OF JULY
POLICE BRUTALITY:
Chicago Activist Coalition For Justice led a demonstration at Federal in Chicago to BOYCOTT 4TH OF JULY because the STOLEN LIVES around the country gets NO JUSTICE. This was the FIRST MAJOR action for CACFJ made national recognition in USA Today and local media publications.
Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef, an activist and South Side resident who organized the downtown protest, said he grew up celebrating the Fourth of July with family, watching fireworks and having barbecues. As he grew older, started his studies, experienced police brutality and lost a nephew to gun violence, that all began to change.
"Independence for people of color has not been part of our livelihood. We’re constantly murdered, harassed because of police brutality all over the country. The concept of freedom does not seem to come to our doorstep, even though we've been here 400 years," Yosef said. "We look it as an abomination to recognize anything that comes with the Fourth of July."#cacfj7

Chicago Activist Coalition For Justice led demonstration at Gotcha Faded Barber
Activist and Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef has been outside the barbershop where blood was shed last night since 7:00 Friday morning. Using his megaphone to call on the community to take action after five people were shot.
The rabbi said once he heard about the senseless act of violence, he decided to move his Day of Service honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. up from Monday to Friday and set up shop right in front of the barbershop.
“Anyone of us could have been a victim. It’s not about my problem or their problem. It’s all of our problem. And that community change starts today,” said Ben Yosef.

Westlake Hospital has been a "Jewel" that services low income families on the westside of Chicago. The geographic local of this Hospital serves patients in all four directions. The faculty is pleasant and serves the general public with their hearts and not with collecting a dollar.TCIN is fighting for this medical institution because it an asset to seniors that dont have to travel in far distance. CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The unsolved murders of 51 women in Chicago, most of whom were African American, has a community activist calling for more action from police and the city.
A small group of protesters gathered in the Nat King Cole Park at 85th and King on the South Side late Saturday morning to honor the 51 women and to ask why more isn’t being done to solve the crimes. Rabbi Michael Ben-Yosef organized the vigil.

CHICAGO (AP) - The bodies turned up in some of Chicago's most derelict places: alleys, abandoned buildings, weed-choked lots and garbage containers. The victims were mostly black women who had been strangled or suffocated.
Authorities believed many were prostitutes or drug addicts or both. There was evidence of sexual attacks, and some of the dead were naked or wearing torn clothes, as if someone had tried to rip them off.
The slayings that began in 2001 continued for years and remain unsolved. Now a national nonprofit group and a computer algorithm are helping detectives review the cases and revealing potential connections. The renewed investigation offers hope to the victims' relatives, some of whom have waited nearly two decades for answers.

But deep down I know I haven't," said Marsean Shines, a teenager when his aunt, Winifred Shines, was strangled and left in an alley almost 19 years ago. Family members have always wondered if she died at the hands of the same killer who choked the life out of her.

"I took my children to Denny’s in Orland Park tonight and as we were waiting to be seated a old white lady (age 30-75) looks at us and says, and I quote “eww” followed by a sigh and says “how many?” I’m like “excuse me! what did you say? She says “oh nothing” God knows I’m trying to teach my children how to handle certain situations; so I say “you know what we’ll pass odiningng in… have a nice night” she said “good go somewhere else” now at this point I’ve slightly lost my cool and cussed in my anger and we walked out.
I look back and I see this man running toward the door so I’m thinking he’s probably a Manager trying to fix the situation but unfortunately I was wrong. He yelled out “Byeeee!! We didn’t want your nigger ass here anyway” I called the police and explained what I just happened and went back inside the restaurant.
Now I am approached by a manager which whom is a black woman and she says “ Ma’am I’m sorry about that and I did speak with him” I said you spoke with him? Obviously you don’t know what was actually said” so I told her and immediately she called her boss and now the officer has arrived and I’m so pissed I’m almost in tears explaining to him what transpired.
He spoke to both managers and whatever he said on that phone made her send the both them home. After receiving a report number I drove away and he flashed his lights, so of course I stopped… he got out his car with tears in his eyes and told my children “all ppl aren’t like those assholes and I’m sorry that you guys experienced that. Have you guys ever wondered how the police lights works?” Of course they said yes
and he ask if it was ok for the kids check out car? I let them and they loved it. When it was all over he asked for hugs and promise the kids that he’ll make sure that those two ppl will be looking for a new job."

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2394785564070457&id=100006171105850
WHY DOES CHICAGO NEED A LIKE MINDED BILL AB 392?
SAN DIEGO — Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation Monday co-authored by a San Diego lawmaker that redefines when law enforcement officers can use deadly force.
AB 392, co-written by Assemblywoman Shirley Weber, D-San Diego, will hold law enforcement officers liable for homicide if an investigation finds the use of deadly force on a civilian was necessitated by the officer’s own actions. Law enforcement will still be able to use deadly force as self- defense, but only when “necessary.”
"WASHINGTON - Getting killed by P police is a leading cause of death for young black men and boys in the U.S., a new study finds. Black men and boys are 2.5 times more likely than white men and boys to die during a police encounter, according to the study published this month in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Overall, about one in 1,000 black men and boys in the U.S. can expect to die at the hands of a police officer.
Excessive police force has garnered
greater scrutiny in recent years following high-profile killings by police. That scrutiny has changed some local elections and led to the implementation of police-worn body cameras (and subsequent release of body-cam footage following police shootings).
This study applies data to police shootings that now dominate national headlines. Read the full report here.

CHICAGO—It’s become a familiar tragedy with youth as victims of the city’s senseless violence and a slow response rate by authorities. Over Labor Day weekend in Chicago, out of 64 people shot, eight were juveniles. According to the University of Chicago, homicide is the second leading cause of death for youth between the ages of 10-24. About 53 percent of homicides in Chicago go unsolved, reported the Englewood District police station.
Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef of the Chicago Activist Coalition for Justice (CACFJ) said, enough is enough! He is taking matters into his own hands to make sure victims and families are not forgotten with the #SaveOurChildren project.
“At this point, we’re saying zero tolerance,” he told The Final Call. “We want to have it big as possible for people to think twice about using those weapons that murder little children.”https://chicago.suntimes.com/2021/6/8/22524592/victims-gun-violence-voice-police-involved-water-systems-letters
Violence in the city always increases when it gets warmer out. Kids are on summer break from school and deserve to enjoy the summer with friends, family, riding their bikes and going to the park. Kids shouldn’t have to worry about being shot and killed, yet so far this year 52 kids under 15 years of age have been shot and 10 have been killed.https://news.wttw.com/2021/04/15/protests-planned-chicago-following-release-toledo-shooting-video
In Millennium Park, a group of protesters had already been planning to demonstrate Thursday evening against the death of Daunte Wright at the hands of a police officer in Minnesota.
Organizer Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef of the Chicago Activist Coalition For Justice says he wants to see charges against the officer who shot Toledo, irrespective of whether Toledo had a gun.
“I think the (Toledo family) attorney made it clear she wants some forensics done on that part of it. But still, the young man complied. When the officer said, ‘Put your hands up,’ he showed himself surrendering to authority. That to me is the part of the situation that must be emphasized,” Ben Yosef said. “He complied with authority and still … he was murdered.”https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/lake-county-news-sun/ct-lns-waukegan-city-council-st-0908-20220907-datlds2penfxzacy6zy6b2zkyy-story.html
A plea for justice by a representative of the grieving family of a teen killed nearly two years ago by a Waukegan police officer went out of control, causing a 20-minute recess at a City Council meeting as officials, including up to nine police officers, tried to calm the situation.

"No one gives a damn. It seems to be this city is hush-hush, throw it under the rug," said Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef, Chicago Activist Coalition for Justice.

COPA told ABC News on Monday that the agency will "work in coordination with the family and their representative" in releasing the materials, but did not provide a date.
"This is the second incident in Chicago in regards to our Black and brown community -- are arrested and brought in custody one way, but leave in a body bag," Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef of the Chicago Activist Coalition For Justice told reporters on Sunday.
The Chicago Police Department has referred questions regarding both cases to COPA.
On Tuesday, standing outside Comer, Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef said the shooting was “another example in our community where we are gunned down like animals.”
“Unfortunately, this problem is just terrorizing everyone,” said Yosef, founder of humanitarian group Tikkun Chai Inter-National. “We just can’t even walk on the streets. That’s unacceptable.”
Yosef said he hadn’t talked with the girl’s family but he was optimistic that she survived through the night. But Monday’s shooting is “just another example” of children being shot or killed in their neighborhoods, he said.
“These families didn’t have these children to be murdered or to be gunned down,” Yosef said. “They had these children for long legacies.”
Yosef said he and other activists are seeking resources for the community and stricter bond restrictions against people with prior gun violence convictions.
If what it takes is having community members stand on street corners to keep neighborhoods safe, Yosef said these “angels on the street” would be a first step in policing themselves and shoring up community safety.

Block Club CHICAGO — Reported shootings and murders were down in Chicago for a third straight month in May, according to police data, but violence has failed to fall back to pre-pandemic numbers.
There were 254 reported shootings in May this year, compared to 321 shootings in 2021 and 338 shootings in 2020, according to police data. In 2019, before the pandemic started, there were 198 shootings during the same time period.
